Who we are
We're a small group passionate about lowering the barriers to a good education. Apple Runway is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a goal to provide an equal opportunity to a quality education, and promote a fulfilling educational experience for students and teachers in the Chicago area.
We partner directly with schools, often with both teachers and social workers to ensure that classrooms and individual students receive the support they need.
We're proud to report that since we founded Apply Runway in April of 2020, 100% of donor funds have gone directly to supplies and other support for students. Any overhead, from hosting the site, to annual expenses of managing the org, is all covered by our leadership team personally. Nobody takes a salary, and we manage the org as volunteers. We have no plans to change this, and maintain this 100% rate as part of our mission to ensure you can be certain your funds are going to the right place.

Step 1
We receive your donation
Great news! Apple Runway is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization. You can donate via the link, or via check. Please note, for larger donations, we'd prefer a check, as that ensures 0 processing fees :)
Step 2
Teachers request aid
We partner with teaches and social workers in the schools we support. When a classroom or student level need arises, they'll submit a request to us!
Step 3
Teachers approved for aid
Once a request is submitted, we'll review it asap to confirm it fits our areas of support. We partner with retired teachers who help validate requests and share recommendations with partner schools.
Step 4
Teachers receive aid
We'll then source the needed supplies and materials, and have them at the school often within several days of the request!
